How we determine pricing
We offer standard bundled tiers.
- First: We’ll work with you to understand your requirements.
- Then: We’ll match this to one of our standard tiers, or create a custom tier if needed.
- Later: We’ll review this regularly with you, and you can flexibly move between tiers based on current and forecast usage.

Size x Time x Quantity
We work with you to determine pricing based on your projected usage of virtual lab environments.Â
Size
A Virtual Lab Unit (VLU) is the amount of CPU and RAM allocated to virtual machines in each virtual lab environment.​
Time
When lab environments are running they consume VLUs. The running time multiplied by the VLUs is measured as VLU hours.
Quantity
Overall consumption is calculated based on the total VLU hours used by all active virtual lab environments in a month.
Frequently asked questions
Are there any setup fees?
No. All costs associated with setup, onboarding and training are included as part of your subscription.
Do we need our own cloud account to use Heropa?
No. Your Heropa subscription includes access to our all-in-one training platform which leverages a single Heropa cloud account.
Is software licensing included?
All Microsoft licensing is included. AWS Marketplace and Azure Marketplace costs are additional.
What happens if I don’t use the resources within my subscription tier in a given month?
Unused resources do not rollover. The good news is that integrated analytics within Heropa will help you stay on top of this. We’ll also work with you to do regular usage reviews to ensure the tier matches your needs.
What happens if I exceed the resources within my subscription tier in a given month?
You can set a policy to ensure this doesn’t happen. However if it does, there will be a consumption-based charge. Again, we’ll work with you to make sure you your tier works for you.
Is Heropa’s pricing in reach for smaller companies / startups?
We believe it is. Our approach to pricing takes into account that your needs may change over time, which is why we’ve made it so flexible, allowing you to start small.
